    Papillon Howl

Does anyone else's Papillon howl? I've noticed Papillons are really good at sounding like mini wolves with very heartfelt howls. They aren't choppy or car alarm-ish.

Here is a video of my dog Lito a few weeks after we got him (you can tell by his short fringe) learning to howl with us. We found this very amusing--and still do .

    Lito @ 10 months

Lito @ 1yr 7 months (A much better howler now)

He's my little Papillon parrot He tries to copy my pitch too .

I haven't heard Mojo howl, but my Mom has. He only did it once, when I had taken my other dog to the vet and left him at home.

Nope, never heard Max howl. He does bark and definitely tries to communicate with us. But never howl.

You guys should try it. You have to make a fool of yourself and howl for a bit but they join in. It's adorable. If you watch the videos, he always waits for me to howl and then he will howl :P. I love dog howls!

When we were fostering we had another Papillon and he howled hilarious. We also fostered a westie/mix and he howled horribly like a car alarm, same thing with the mini dashund mix. Papillon howls are the best <3.

I've never heard either of my girls howl. I tried to get them to howl but they looked at me like I was crazy.

They were very interested in your videos.

Hehehe it takes embarrassing persistent effort. Lito will only howl if I initiate it and Belle will only howl if Lito and I are persistently howling for like 3+ minutes :P.

Mumble makes a lot of chirps, grunts, and whines, but I've only heard him make a howl-like noise once, and I wasn't even there. I had set up a camera to see how he behaved while we were gone, and at one point he howled. My fiancee and I have tried making him howl, but he just looks confused.

My red & white (Jasper) would howl anytime - anywhere. He loved it!

I miss my little Jasper and our howls :-)

I just played both of these clips while Mojo was chewing on a rawhide chip. He got very attentive as long as there was howling, the second it stopped he started chewing his chip again. lol
