I know what you mean, Wendy. Gracie has nowhere near that kind of hair/fur. I thought it took a few years to get that much hair. That's encouraging

I copied this into here since it is about Mojo's puppies. Only 1 of the girls is actually going to be shown now, and that is Rose. Skye and Sylvia will both be doing obedience.

See I am already learning so much, I wasn't sure what type of coat Jinx will have, she is only 4 months right now. So she could have a much full coat as she gets older? I don't know much about her parents, only that they were 4 and 7 pounds (and she is quite tiny still)

I'll let Mojo give you the full low-down....

But a lot of what you get in a coat is genetic - what your puppy gets from mom and dad. And males tend to get a fuller coat than the females.

    You can help things by:

feeding a very healthy diet with quality food
    Flea / tick preventative
Regular grooming with the right tools and right shampoo

And the full coat is often not seen until about 18mos. :-)

It can take up to 3 years to get full coat. Genetics do play a large role.
It is hard to type with Mojo in my lap, licking my hands!
